Insert the disc and wait a few seconds until on the [Main Menu], the “Rush” logo appears in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. Then, press the [Up] arrow key on your remote control, and then press [Enter]. This will take you to a new menu screen from which you can select to play either the video “Afterimage” or “The Enemy Within”.
Insert the second disc of the set and select [Explore] from the [Main Menu]. Once there, highlight the menu entry for [Animation Production]. Now press the [Right] arrow key on your remote control and the words [DVD Credits] will appear.
To access the cartoon for “By-Tor and the Snowdog,” follow these simple steps. Play the “Boys in Brazil” documentary from disc two. Hit [Enter] when guitarist Alex Lifeson discusses the song “By-Tor and the Snowdog” (at 26:40 minutes into the documentary).
Insert disc two into your DVD player. From the [Main Menu], hit [2]. When a song begins to play, hit [Menu]. Then hit [1]. When a song begins to play, hit [Menu]. Hit [1] again, and then – again -return to the menu when the song starts. Then hit [2], and then [Menu] when the song starts. (The overall combination is 2-menu-1-menu-1-menu-2-menu. Or “2112,” which of course is the title of a popular Rush song.) The menu should now have another option on it called “Anthem 1975.” Select it and enjoy a Rush video from nearly thirty years ago!
The abstract “Symbol” is located just below [Scene Selection]. Highlight [Scene Selection] and then hit the [Down] arrow on your remote to highlight the symbol. Hit [Enter] and the bonus reveals text on the makers of the DVD.
At the main menu, select the “Scene Selections” option. Advance through the scene selection screens to “Scene 7-8″. Highlight the red dragon that appears where a third scene selection would normally be. Press Enter to view a trailer for The Lord Of The Rings. Advance through the scene selection screens to “Scene 15-16″. Highlight the 7 that appears where a third scene selection would normally be. Press Enter to view another trailer for The Lord Of The Rings.
At the main menu, press Left to highlight the “Infinifilm” logo on the Chinese takeout box. Press Enter to view the disc’s production credits.
At the main menu, select the “Help” option. Exit the help menu to burn the take-out box’s chow mein.
On disc two, go to [Once More With Feeling], [Language]. Click on [Resume] then [Up] and B will appear. Click and you will find a featurette about the Tower records store signing for the “Once More With Feeling” soundtrack. This applies to region 2 only.
On disc four, go to [Doublemeat Palace], [Language]. Click on [Resume] then [Up] and B will appear. Click and a screen will tell you that there is a dvd-rom feature for a call sheet. This applies to region 2 only.
From the disc’s [Main Menu], select the [Special Features] menu entry. Once you get to that submenu, press the [Right arrow key on your remote control. This will highlight Ian Bannen's eye in the background image. Press [Enter] now and you will have the chance to see an interview clip with star Honor Blackman, about the making of the movie.
Insert the fourth disc of the set and from the [Main Menu], select [Special Features]. Now, select the [Friends of Friends] menu entry and on the next screen press the [Left arrow key on your remote control. This will highlight the coffee cup in the upper left corner of the screen. Press [Enter] now and you will get to see the footage of a “Crew Cameo” in which the series’ executive producers Kevin Bright, Martha Kauffman and David Crane appear as casting directors in a scene. It is introduced by a title screen that goes away after a few seconds, followed by the actual footage from the show.
Click on [Filmography] and then [Kevin Kline]. When you see the [Fierce Creatures] in the film list, press [Up] and the line under it will highlight. When you click on it their will be a hidden trailer for “Fierce Creatures”.
